McLaren's Lewis Hamilton became the seventh different winner in as many races in a slow-burn Canadian Grand Prix that came alive in the final laps.
Hamilton fought up from third place past Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel in the closing laps.
Alonso's one-stop strategy, Hamilton did two, failed - he dropped from the lead to fifth as his tyres faded.
He was passed by Romain Grosjean's Lotus, Sauber's Sergio Perez and Vettel, who made a late second stop.

Guan Tian-lang, 13, to become youngest player on European Tour

Guan Tian-lang will become the youngest player to compete on the European Tour when the 13-year-old tees off in the China Open on Thursday.
Guan, who will be 13 years and 173 days, will beat the record of compatriot Lo Shik-kai, who was 107 days older at the 2003 Hong Kong Open.
Guan booked his place in the 156-man field after finishing fourth in a mid-China qualifying event.
Also in the field are England's Ian Poulter and Paul Casey.

Triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt wants to "amaze" the world at London 2012 by running 9.4 seconds for the 100m and 19 seconds for the 200m.

Jamaican Bolt, 25, is the reigning Olympic champion and world-record holder over both distances, with times of 9.58secs and 19.19secs.

Bolt said people are looking forward to him running 9.4, 19 seconds, anything that's amazing.

Tiger Woods turned his thoughts to trying to win a fifth Masters title after claiming his first PGA Tour title since September 2009 at Bay Hill.
The former world number one warmed up for the first major of the year with a five-shot victory over Graeme McDowell at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Woods, who moved up to sixth in the world rankings with the win, pulled out of his last event two weeks ago with an Achilles tendon strain that initially seemed likely to threaten his participation at Augusta.

England's Justin Rose claimed a fourth USPGA Tour win at the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, in Florida.
The Hampshire golfer stood three shots back at the start of play, trailing overnight leader Bubba Watson.
But, with Watson fading, world number one Rory McIlroy's late charge falling short and Tiger Woods retiring with an Achilles injury , Rose held his nerve.
A final round two-under 70 was enough to win by a shot from Watson, who missed a 10-foot birdie putt at 18.

Tiger Woods was forced to pull out after 11 holes of Sunday's final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Florida with an Achilles heel injury.
The former world number one, who began the day at Doral eight off the pace, had already fallen out of the running with bogeys on 6, 7 and 10.
But his new injury will be a concern to the four-times US Masters champion with Augusta less than four weeks away.
Justin Rose won the tournament by one from Bubba Watson.
Woods, 36, complained of a tight left Achilles during his warm-up and admitted he aggravated the injury during his round on day four.
