British Prime Minister David Cameron has condemned the murder of a man in Woolwich, south-east London. The prime minister, who had travelled to Paris for a meeting with the French president Francois Hollande, is expected to return to the UK earlier than planned.  A meeting of Cobra has been convened. Mr Cameron confirmed that there were strong indications that this
was a terrorist incident. Police confirmed two men had been arrested in connection with the murder. There are unconfirmed reports that the dead man was a soldier.

Meanwhile, sources say Britain is investigating a possible Nigerian link to attackers suspected of hacking a soldier to death in London while shouting
Islamic slogans.
Two suspects have been taken into custody after the attack, which the British government said appeared to be an act of terrorism. Police have not identified the suspects. The sources, speaking independently, said a Nigerian link was being investigated but gave no further details about the nature of the link.

At least one dead victim is reported to be Brazilian. Turkey's civil
aviation agency says it has launched an inquiry.
In 2009, a British tourist was killed and nine other people were injured

British Prime Minister David Cameron has urged British overseas territories
to get their house in order and sign up to international treaties on tax.
He wrote to 10 territories and crown dependencies, including the Cayman
Islands and the Isle of Man, which operate low-tax regimes.
Critics claim such places are used by companies for tax avoidance or
evasion. The plea came ahead of a G8 summit in June, when the UK is expected
to push for tighter tax measures.

conference that the Government will change to law to increase this to a life
sentence without parole. There have been 12 direct police killings since
2000, including the murder of PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes in Greater
Manchester last year.

The comments come after former Tory Chancellor Lord Lawson warned that any renegotiation with Brussels ahead of a vote would be inconsequential.
He said the UK should quit the EU, with the referendum being moved forward.
But the prime minister said keeping the status quo was not an option.
