The Rivers State Police Command has urged citizens to report any officer without name tags on their uniform.
Rivers Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Grace Iringe-Koko made the call on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire describing such act as unprofessional.
Iringe-Koko also appealed to Rivers residents to give useful information to the command to enable the command track criminal activities, promising to keep whistle-blowers’ identity confidential. She gave the command numbers, 08098880134 and 08032003514.
Responding to reports of some police officers checking the phones of citizens during stop and search operations, the Police Spokesperson stated that the force strongly condemns such acts as no police officer has the right to check phones without a warrant.
