The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar will campaign in all 36 states ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said this during an interview on ARISE News.
He dismissed concerns that Atiku’s campaign could focus mainly on northern Nigeria.
Shaibu says the campaign schedule will be released soon and no state will be left out.
He explains that the campaign will go beyond rallies in state capitals to include town hall meetings, community engagements and visits to local government areas and villages.
He says the plan is to give Atiku the opportunity to interact directly with voters and listen to their concerns.
The ADC campaign spokesman argues that economic hardship affects Nigerians across the country, regardless of their location.
He expresses confidence in Atiku’s chances, insisting that the former vice-president’s appeal extends beyond northern Nigeria.
The position contrasts with President Bola Tinubu’s decision to limit his participation in the All Progressives Congress campaign rallies to 12 states ahead of the election.
Tinubu says the decision is necessary to allow him to balance campaign activities with governance, adding that the country requires his attention and that the government has financial obligations to meet.
