Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for arresting three suspects allegedly linked to Thursday’s attack on Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area.

The attack reportedly claimed several lives, including four police officers.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia described the arrests as a significant step towards uncovering the circumstances surrounding the attack and bringing those responsible to justice.

He urged the DSS to intensify its investigation and use information obtained from the suspects to identify and arrest other accomplices, sponsors and collaborators connected to the incident.

The governor also commiserated with the people of Ayilamo, the families of the victims, the Logo community, and the Inspector-General of Police over the loss of the four officers.

Alia described the attack as a grave threat to the security and stability of Benue State, assuring residents that his administration would continue to work with security agencies to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks.

He urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, and to provide credible information to security agencies while avoiding actions that could worsen tensions or interfere with the investigation.
