The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has reaffirmed the party’s 60/40 leadership-sharing formula between new members and existing party leaders in Kano State.

Yilwatda spoke on Monday during a courtesy visit to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, according to a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

He said, “The arrangement was meant to promote inclusion, unity, and full participation of all party members in both party and government activities.”

The APC chairman said he was impressed by the large turnout of party supporters and leaders at the meeting, describing it as a clear sign of unity and commitment among APC members in Kano.

He added that “the strong showing would help boost support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of future elections.”

Yilwatda also commended Yusuf Gawuna and Barau Jibrin for putting aside personal ambitions and aligning with the party’s direction in the state.

He further praised Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his role in strengthening and uniting the party in Kano.

In his response, Governor Yusuf thanked the APC leadership for the visit and assured them of his commitment to unity, peace, and cooperation among party members in the state.

He said “he remains committed to working with the party and its members to keep Kano united, prosperous and in line” with the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the large turnout showed APC members are ready to work together for the good of the party and the people of Kano.
