The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
Emefiele was arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory High Court on a six-count charge bordering on procurement fraud worth ₦1.2 billion, to which he pleaded not guilty
He applied for bail from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and his request was noted.
But, the former CBN Governor will remain in prison until November 22, when the court will deliver a ruling on his bail motion.
The court also set November 28 as the date for the commencement of trial.
