Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been crowned the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, capping off a standout season.

Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí retained the women’s award for the third year in a row at a glittering ceremony in Paris.

The 69th edition of football’s most prestigious individual honour was held on Monday at the Théâtre du Châtelet, where global stars gathered to celebrate the game’s best performers across multiple categories.

Dembélé's Year

Dembélé edged out Mohamed Salah, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Declan Rice, and Lamine Yamal to win the men's award.

The France international has had a memorable year, scoring 35 goals and providing 15 assists in all competitions during the 2024-25 season.

He played a pivotal role in PSG's first-ever UEFA Champions League title, as well as claiming the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France trophies.

Named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season and Ligue 1 Player of the Year, the 28-year-old showed scoring prowess and all-around impact in key matches throughout the campaign. 

Bonmatí Again

The women’s category featured stars such as Lucy Bronze, Mariona Caldentey, Alessia Russo, Steph Catley, and Hannah Hampton.

However, Aitana Bonmatí came out victorious, having helped Barcelona win the domestic treble while playing a key role in their run to the Women’s Champions League final, registering multiple goals and assists in crucial matches.

She was named the Women’s Champions League Player of the Season for the third year in a row, and also played a pivotal part in Spain’s campaign at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, including scoring an important goal in extra time to send her side into the semi-finals.
