The EFCC has declared former Petroleum Resources Minister and ex-Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva wanted.

He is accused of conspiracy and dishonestly converting $14.8 million meant for a refinery project.

The funds, provided by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), were supposed to go to Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited to build a refinery.

A warrant for Sylva’s arrest was issued on November 6 by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Justice D.I. Dipeolu approved the order, allowing the EFCC, police, or any law enforcement officer to arrest him and bring him before the commission to face the charges.

The EFCC is asking anyone with information about Sylva’s location to contact its zonal offices, the nearest police station, or other security agencies.
