Gunmen have abducted Apostle John Okoriko, the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Ibekwe, Akwa Ibom State.
The spokesman of the state police command, Odiko Macdon told journalists that the clergyman was kidnapped at 5 pm Tuesday at his church residence.
He has however assured that the victim will be rescued.
“As I speak, a lot has been done already. I want to believe that we will get to the root in no distant time,” Mr. Macdon said.
The kidnappers reportedly got into the pastor’s home after scaling its fence and shooting into the air.
The octogenarian has been pastoring for more than 40 years.
