The I Beg To Differ (IBTD) Secondary School Debate Tournament Season 9 continued on Monday with two intense matchups in the Round of 32, showcasing sharp arguments, confident delivery, and high-stakes judging.

In the first debate, on the motion “Teachers Should Be the Highest Paid Public Servants,” Timi Comprehensive College, Mushin, delivered a commanding performance against New Estate Baptist Secondary School.

Timi Comprehensive College dominated the presentation round, setting the tone early in the debate.

The school also swept the rebuttal round with unanimous scores from the judges.

Their solid finish in the closing round ensured a convincing advancement for the school's debaters.

New Estate Baptist struggled in the rebuttal round, hurting the school's winning chances.

The second matchup featured International School, University of Lagos, against Silversands Hall, on the motion, “ASUU Strikes Do More Harm Than Good.”

It was a close contest from start to finish, with round one ending in a tie after split scoring.

Round two gave International School (University of Lagos) a narrow edge.

The final round proved decisive, giving the school a narrow but well-earned victory by a split decision.

Silversands Hall impressed but lost crucial points in the rebuttal (second) round.

The judges praised both teams for strong performances.
