The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to activist and social media commentator Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as “Justice Crack,” in the sum of N5 million.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ordered that the bail be secured with one surety in the same amount, who must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15, residing within the court’s jurisdiction for at least four years and providing proof of residence and pensionable employment.

The surety is also required to deposit his international passport.
During proceedings, a DSS operative and first prosecution witness testified that the defendant allegedly produced and posted videos online based on images received from soldiers without verifying their authenticity.

The witness also said forensic analysis of the defendant’s phone included chats, videos, and social media activity.

The court admitted the DSS investigation report as evidence and accepted additional exhibits, including an iPhone and flash drive allegedly linked to the defendant, over defence objections.

The case was adjourned until May 25 for continuation of trial.
