The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has called for stronger strategic partnerships to unlock value, drive sustainability, and deepen commercialization in the country’s downstream petroleum sector.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari made this known during the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week, organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
Ojulari was represented by the Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau.
He described Nigeria’s downstream landscape as one shaped by transition, opportunity, and reform, noting that collaboration remains key to building a sustainable energy future.
Speaking on Africa’s energy demand projected to grow significantly in the coming years, Ojulari insisted that Nigeria must lead through coordinated efforts and shared responsibility to harness emerging opportunities and promote inclusive, long-term growth.
Ojulari reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to ensuring consistent fuel supply, competitive pricing, and strict quality standards across its retail network nationwide.
“The opportunity to create a sustainable economy for today and the future lies in supply partnerships, infrastructure co-investments, security collaborations, host community cooperation, and operational alliances. Everyone must be involved in building a sustainable and promising future for Nigeria.”
He commended the National Assembly and the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for convening the strategic forum, adding that NNPC Ltd., as both a commercial and national energy entity, remains committed to stakeholder engagement and collaborative models that promote sector-wide progress.
The event, themed “Celebrating Our Successes, Confronting Our Challenges, and Finding Solutions for the Petroleum Downstream Sector,” brought together key players in the downstream industry and lawmakers to discuss pathways for sustainable growth.
