Police Arrest 150 Suspected Criminals in Lagos Raid

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects and recovered firearms, 100 unregistered motorcycles, suspected stolen property and illicit drugs in a major raid on suspected criminal hideouts in the state.

The operation, conducted in the early hours of Sunday, was part of the Command's ongoing Operation KO S'AYE, aimed at dismantling criminal networks across Lagos.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, a joint team of operatives from various formations carried out coordinated raids at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identifieds Tblack spots within the Area M, Idimu area, following credible intelligence.

In addition to the motorcycles, the police spokesperson said the force recovered 54 mobile phones, a double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel short gun, two military camouflage uniforms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, assorted charms, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.

The police said all 150 suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities.

Those found culpable will be prosecuted.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the raid and reaffirmed the command's commitment to sustaining Operation KO S'AYE to enhance public safety and ensure criminals have no place to hide.

He also appealed to residents to support the police with timely and credible information to aid crime prevention and the arrest of offenders.
