Pope Leo Prays for Victims of Benue Massacre, Appeals for Peace in Sudan

Pope Leo has expressed profound sorrow and solidarity with the victims and the families of about 200 people killed in a tragic massacre in Benue State.

During his Sunday address, the Pope condemned the violent attacks in Guma and Yelwata, urging the international community to join in prayer for the affected communities in Benue State. He emphasized the need for peace and healing in the region.

The pontiff highlighted the importance of addressing the root causes of such violence and called on local and global leaders to work towards sustainable solutions that promote safety and harmony.

In addition to his prayers for Nigeria, Pope Leo extended his concerns to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

He called for a spirit of dialogue and reconciliation, urging all parties involved to commit to peaceful resolution and cooperation.
