The Super Eagles have landed in South Africa ahead of Tuesday’s must-win World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana in Bloemfontein.

Nigeria traveled with momentum after edging Rwanda 1-0 in Uyo, a result that kept their slim qualification hopes alive.

Toluwalase Arokodare’s late strike sealed the win, lifting the Eagles to third in Group C with 10 points from seven games. South Africa lead with 16 points, while Benin sit second on 11.

Only the group winner qualifies directly for the 2026 World Cup, with the best runners-up across Africa heading into playoffs.

Coach Eric Chelle will be without striker Victor Osimhen, who suffered a chin injury in the Rwanda match, leaving his side short of firepower for Tuesday’s clash.

A win in Bloemfontein is crucial if Nigeria are to revive their hopes of reaching the Mundial in North America. Anything less could all but end their campaign.
