President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent attacks in Maiduguri, describing them as desperate attempts by terrorists to instil fear.

The president expressed grief over the loss of lives and sympathised with the injured, while declaring solidarity with residents of Borno State.

He said the attacks were the final desperate moves by terrorists under sustained pressure from the military and other security agencies across the country.

Tinubu commended the armed forces for repelling coordinated attacks on military positions, praising the courage and fighting spirit of troops and civilian task forces.

He also disclosed that he recently approved additional equipment and operational support for security agencies following a meeting with security and intelligence chiefs.

The president directed security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation on ground.

He also instructed emergency agencies to ensure proper care for those injured in the attacks.

Tinubu reiterated that terrorists would find no safe haven in Nigeria, vowing that they would be tracked, confronted and defeated.
