President Bola Tinubu is receiving praise from both the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) stakeholders over recent reforms and infrastructure projects.

RMAFC chairman, Dr. Muhammed Shehu, on Monday hailed the President for signing the tax reform bills and the RMAFC bill, calling the move a bold step toward strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal framework.

“The RMAFC is expressing its profound appreciation to the President for the bold and transformative steps taken in reforming Nigeria’s fiscal landscape,” Shehu said.

He believes the new laws will enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in revenue generation and allocation, while also reducing dependence on oil revenue.

“The tax reforms will bring great reliefs to low-income earners who, until now, were compelled to pay taxes while struggling to survive on their meagre means of sustenance,” he added.

Shehu also praised members of the National Assembly, the Attorney General of the Federation, and other key stakeholders for collaborating to make the reforms a reality.

President Tinubu Commends Wike

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has also been commended for infrastructural development in the FCT, particularly the newly commissioned access roads in Giri district.

At the project inauguration on Monday, the 13th in a series of 17 projects marking Tinubu’s second year in office, the President, represented by House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for bringing governance closer to the people.

“You have not only embraced the visions of my administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, (but) you have localised it, made it meaningful and made it real,” Tinubu said.
He added that the access roads are more than infrastructure — they symbolize opportunity and progress.

“May these roads lead you to greater opportunities; may they carry your children to school, farmers to markets, families to healthcare and dreams to reality,” he told Giri residents.

Minister Wike explained that the new roads would make it easier for institutions like the EFCC to develop their sites in the area and boost investor interest.

“We will do everything we can to see that basic infrastructure is provided in Giri to become an important district that will attract so many investors,” Wike said.

He also revealed plans to build a full road network in the district and resolve lingering land issues with the University of Abuja.

Hear Wike: “So, I have told the director of land and other relevant agencies to carve out 4,000 hectares and give it to the university.
“The other ones would be reallocated because we are going to provide the roads here, and that is the true situation,” he said.

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the Giri access roads as a “shining example” of the Tinubu administration’s commitment to inclusive growth.

The acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Mr. Richard Dauda, said the roads would serve the planned institutional area and the city’s future main sewage treatment plant located in Giri.
