Wazobia FM and its on-air personalities have secured multiple nominations across station, presenter, sports and technical categories at the 7th Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, NBMA 2026.
The nominations span the station’s operations in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Onitsha, as well as its television platform, Wazobia Max TV.
Wazobia FM 95.1 Lagos was nominated for Best Radio Station, Lagos, while Wazobia FM 99.5 Abuja received a nomination for Best Radio Station, North.
Wazobia FM 93.7 Onitsha was nominated for Best Radio Station, South-East.
The station’s outlets in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Onitsha were also nominated for Radio Channel with Best Station Imaging.
Wazobia Max TV received a nomination for Best Indigenous TV Channel, Viewer’s Choice.
In the personality categories, Yaw, also known as Steve Onu, was nominated for Best Radio Presenter/Programme in Current Affairs, Talk Show or Entertainment, Lagos.
Chi Boi of Wazobia FM Abuja was nominated for Best Radio Presenter, Drive-Time Show, North.
BigMo of Wazobia FM Abuja and Ochedeking of Wazobia FM Kano were both nominated for Best Indigenous Language Radio Presenter/Programme, North, in the Pidgin category.
Nnah Douglas of Wazobia FM Abuja was nominated for Best Radio Sportscaster.
Group Programme Director, Prince Daniel Aboki, who oversees Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info and Arewa Radio, was nominated for Best Programme Directo.
The nominations are part of the official nominees list for the 2026 Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards.
