The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi says 70% of Nigerian politicians have no business in governance.

He also describes politics in Nigeria as lunatics taking over the asylum.

Mr. Obi said these on Sunday at the Men of Valour conference organised by the Revival House of International Church (RHOGIC), Abuja.

He added that only a lunatic in government will steal N80 billion of the citizens' money for personal use.

The Anambra State former governor warned that Nigeria will continue to suffer unless such individuals are flushed out and competent people voted in.

He charged Nigerians to scrutinize all the presidential candidates by demanding to know what they are offering.

He equally called on the church to act in order to chase the current set of politicians out, rather than just praying.

Also speaking at the event, a governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Bassey Albert, advocated for direct primaries, which he said is the surest way of shopping for credible candidates.

He advised Nigerians to vote for credible candidates and not the party.

The Men of Valour conference was part of the activities lined up by the men's wing of the church to mark this year's fathers' day.

The theme was “Navigating the corridors of power, the church, and politics.”
