Hyacinth Alia has directed security agencies to launch operations against armed groups in forested areas of Benue State.
The order follows deadly attacks on communities in Apa and Otukpo local government areas.
In a statement by his spokesman, Tersoo Kula, the governor described the assaults as brutal and unacceptable.
He said the attackers have been using nearby forests as bases and must be dislodged without delay.
Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property through sustained security operations.
He added that the state is working with federal security agencies to restore peace in affected communities.
The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant and share credible information with authorities.
