Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, have rejected the outcome of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries, alleging widespread irregularities and voter disenfranchisement during the exercise.

In a statement issued after the primaries, Amaechi described the results being announced as “concocted,” insisting that the process failed to meet the standards of fairness and transparency earlier promised by the party.

He alleged that a large number of party members across the country were prevented from voting, arguing that such practices contradict the ADC’s pledge to provide credible leadership and democratic alternatives for Nigerians.

The former Rivers State governor further accused the party of engaging in the same electoral malpractices it had previously condemned in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including vote buying, result manipulation, and voter suppression.

According to him, the alleged irregularities undermine the party’s credibility and its mission to rescue the country from poor governance.

Similarly, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen announced that he would boycott the official declaration of the presidential primary results, citing reports of widespread vote rigging from across the country.

He stated that some of the alleged irregularities were personally observed by him and noted that he would consult with his team before deciding on his next line of action.
