The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has imposed sanctions on Senegal, Morocco, and several players and officials over incidents during the AFCON Morocco 2025 final.
CAF said its Disciplinary Board found breaches of the CAF Disciplinary Code, citing violations of fair play, integrity and conduct.
Senegal head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw was suspended for five CAF matches and fined 100,000 dollars for unsporting conduct.
Two Senegal players, Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr, were each banned for two matches for misconduct towards match officials.
CAF also fined the Senegal Football Federation 615,000 dollars, including penalties for supporter misconduct, player and staff behaviour, and multiple cautions.
Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi received a two match suspension, with one match suspended for a year, while Ismaël Saibari was banned for three matches and fined 100,000 dollars.
The Moroccan Football Federation was fined 315,000 dollars over ball boy conduct, obstruction of the referee during a VAR review, and the use of lasers by supporters.
CAF also dismissed a protest filed by Morocco, ruling it had no merit, and said the measures were taken to protect discipline and the integrity of African football.
