Resurfacing of the Third Mainland Bridge, which would restore the bridges' integrity and beauty, is scheduled to start soon, according to the federal government.

This will start from Adeniji and move toward Falomo, according to the Lagos State Federal Controller of Works, Olukorede Keisha.

At a news conference on Thursday, she said the project will continue where the government left off on recent repair works on the Third Mainland Bridge.

“President Bola Tinubu has graciously asked us to continue the resurfacing6 on the Third Mainland bridge. So we’re continuing any moment from now," she stated.

“We know that motorists are major stakeholders. So we do not want to do this without getting across to them that’s why we’re doing this press conference so that it will not come as a surprise to us.”

Keisha disclosed that a contractor was in the preparatory stage and had been instructed to mobilize immediately.

She stated that fresh asphalt will be laid, lane markings painted over, missing lines added, and solar lights installed.

The goal is to enhance the bridge's overall aesthetics and structural soundness.
