The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, began a familiarization tour of Nigerian Army institutions, establishments, and formations within his Area of Responsibility (AOR) in Lagos on February 3, 2026.
He started with a visit to 9 Brigade Headquarters at TA Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja, where he was welcomed by Brigadier General AO Owolabi and other officers.
After inspecting the Quarter Guard, the Brigade Commander briefed Major General Babalola on the brigade’s achievements and challenges, seeking his support.
The GOC praised the troops for their dedication and professionalism, urging them to maintain security efforts in Lagos State.
He also met with members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ and Soldiers’ Wives Associations, commending their role in supporting soldiers and encouraging continued prayers.
The next day, Major General Babalola visited 149 Battalion, 353 Artillery Regiment, the Nigerian Army School of Medical Sciences (NASMS), and the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM).
At each location, he inspected facilities and received detailed briefings from commanding officers, including Major A. Suleiman, Lieutenant Colonel A. Bello, and Brigadier General OO Igbineweka.

During his visit to NACOLM, the GOC expressed gratitude for the warm reception and stressed the importance of collaboration to enhance operational success and implement the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
The College Commandant, Major General AC Adetoba, pledged continued support and mutual cooperation.
The visits included troop addresses, souvenir presentations, signing of visitor books, and group photographs, marking the GOC’s commitment to strengthening ties across the division’s units.
