Iran’s foreign ministry says conclusions have been reached on several issues discussed in a potential memorandum of understanding with the United States, but insists this does not signal that a deal is close.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks on Monday, saying negotiations between Tehran and Washington are still ongoing.
Baghaei cautioned against expectations of an imminent agreement, stressing that while some areas of discussion have seen progress, major differences remain unresolved.
He said Iran is focused on negotiating an end to the conflict and is not currently discussing nuclear issues, according to the briefing.
Baghaei also accused U.S. officials of shifting positions during talks, saying it has complicated efforts to reach a final agreement.
The comments come amid continued diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington, with both sides signalling cautious progress but maintaining deep disagreements on key issues.
