The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that they targeted the Iranian state television channel, IRINN, on Monday.

This action comes amidst heightened tensions in the region, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

The IDF announced that the air force executed a "precise strike" on a communication center utilized by the Iranian Armed Forces under the guise of civilian operations. It said the intelligence-driven attack aimed to disrupt military activities masked as civilian broadcasting endeavors.

"The strike directly harmed the military capabilities of the Iranian Armed Forces," stated the IDF, emphasizing the dual-use nature of the targeted infrastructure.

The operation was marked by an advance warning issued to civilians in Tehran's 3rd District, where the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting operates. The strike interrupted a live broadcast by IRINN anchor Sahar Imami, underscoring the tensions on the ground.

A video that has gone viral shows the moment Imami exited the studio abruptly after the explosion rocked the broadcast operation. Debris fell from the roof as she disappeared from the scene.

Fourth Day of Strikes

Tensions between Israel and Iran have sharply escalated since last week, marked by a series of military exchanges. Israel initiated a significant offensive on Friday, targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites, leading to a strong retaliatory response from Iran, which launched missile strikes against Israeli targets.

Israel’s attack came as tensions have escalated over Iran’s reported rapidly advancing nuclear program, which Israel sees as a threat to its existence. The conflict has resulted in casualties on both sides.

Israel has suffered at least 24 fatalities and numerous injuries, according to CNN. Iran, on the other hand, has reported at least 224 deaths, including high-ranking military officials, and hundreds more wounded.

International responses have been mixed. China has condemned Israel's strikes as violations of Iranian sovereignty, calling for restraint from both nations. In contrast, U.S. President Donald Trump has shown support for Israel, urging Iran to return to negotiations over its nuclear program.

The hostilities have primarily involved missile exchanges, causing significant damage in Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv and Rishon Lezion. As the situation remains volatile, global powers are closely monitoring the developments, concerned about the potential broader implications for Middle East stability.
