Kwara Governor Sets Up Committee to Support Woro Community After Deadly Attack

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the formation of a seven-member committee to coordinate humanitarian assistance for residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, following a recent deadly attack.

The announcement was made Friday in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye. The committee will act as a direct link between the state government and the affected community to ensure timely support and effective relief coordination.

Former Kaiama lawmaker Hon. Ahmed Kiwozi has been appointed chairman of the panel. Other members include the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Council, Mrs. Aisha Abubakar Sadiq, and Alhaji Abubakar Mora.

Governor AbdulRazaq had earlier briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja about the attack and praised the swift deployment of an army battalion under Operation Savannah Shield to secure the area. He also directed the State Emergency Management Agency to mobilize relief efforts and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
