Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today presented the Greenline Railway project at the Africa Investment Forum in Rabat, Morocco, highlighting Lagos’s commitment to transforming urban transport.
Speaking to federal partners and international financiers, Sanwo-Olu said the 70-kilometre electric rail line, running from Marina to the Lekki Free Trade Zone, will reduce traffic congestion and boost commercial growth along the Lekki-Epe corridor.
“The Green Line builds on our successes with the Blue and Red Lines and is central to LAMATA’s Strategic Transport Master Plan,” the governor said.
“It reflects our goal for a connected, easy-to-navigate, and environmentally responsible transport system.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism over the strong international interest in financing the project, stating, “Their response has exceeded expectations and demonstrates confidence in Lagos’s governance, economy, and infrastructure plans.”
He concluded, “We are shaping the future of urban mobility in Africa. Lagos is moving forward with purpose and momentum.”
