The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has sent a rapid response team to Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, following a recent bandit attack. The team is on the ground to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts.

Under the direction of NEMA Director-General Mrs. Zubaida Umar, personnel from the agency’s Minna Operations Office, which oversees Kwara State, have been temporarily relocated to the affected areas. They are conducting detailed assessments of the security, humanitarian, and infrastructure needs of residents.

The operation is being carried out in collaboration with the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and relevant security agencies to ensure a coordinated response. Relief items, including food and essential supplies, have already been delivered to support victims and affected families.

Mrs. Umar offered condolences to the victims and the Kwara State Government, assuring that NEMA is committed to providing timely assistance. “We will continue to work closely with local authorities to mitigate the impact of this tragic incident,” she said.

The deployment underscores NEMA’s ongoing efforts to respond quickly to security-related emergencies across Nigeria, highlighting the importance of both humanitarian aid and strong coordination with state and federal agencies.
