Nigeria has showcased its Customs modernisation efforts at the 2026 World Customs Organisation (WCO) Technology Conference and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming its commitment to technology-driven border management and international cooperation.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed this during the conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, according to a statement by the Nigeria Customs Service spokesperson, Abdullahi Maiwada.
Speaking on a panel, Adeniyi stressed the importance of international collaboration, improved data exchange and intelligence-led enforcement in tackling cross-border crime and trade risks.
“Diversion of goods in transit is a global challenge that requires coordinated Customs-to-Customs cooperation,” he said.
Nigeria also showcased its indigenous B’Odogwu digital platform and other Trade Modernisation Project solutions aimed at strengthening border security, facilitating legitimate trade and aligning Customs operations with global best practices.
