The Nigerian Air Force says its air component of Operation Hadin Kai has destroyed terrorist strongholds in parts of Borno State and the Mandara Mountains in renewed counterterrorism operations in the North-East.
In a statement, the Air Force said precision airstrikes conducted on May 19 targeted Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains, based on credible intelligence and surveillance missions.
The Air Force said the strikes destroyed terrorist logistics hubs, structures and assembly areas, while also neutralising several fighters and disrupting planned attacks.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to sustained intelligence-driven operations in coordination with other security agencies and international partners.
He said the military would continue to track and eliminate terrorist hideouts, logistics networks and operational bases across the country to restore peace and security.
