Police in Lagos State have uncovered and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly producing adulterated alcoholic drinks in Badagry, arresting a 48-year-old man in connection with the operation.
The Lagos State Police Command said its operatives acted on credible information from members of the public and raided the facility at Yafin, Badagry.
The suspect, identified as Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was arrested at the location.
Police said operatives recovered suspected adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, wine labels and various production utensils allegedly used to produce and package the drinks.
The factory was subsequently sealed, while the suspect was taken into police custody and the recovered items moved to the station for further investigation.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to the information.
Fatai reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led operations against criminal activities and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to the police.
