Super Eagles Announce 28-Man Squad for AFCON 2025

The Nigeria Football Federation has released a 28-man Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Goalkeepers include Stanley Nwabali of Chippa United Francis, Uzoho of Omonia FC, and Amas Obasogie of Singida Blackstar. However, Maduka Okoye of Udinese did not make the list. 

In defence, the coach selected Calvin Bassey of Fulham, Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto, Semi Ajayi of Hull City, Bruno Onyemaechi of Olympiakos, Igoh Ogbu of Slavia Prague, Chidozie Awaziem of Nantes, Bright Osayi Samuel of Birmingham City and Ryan Alebiosu of Blackburn Rovers.

The midfield is led by Wilfred Ndidi who plays for Besiktas and Frank Onyeka of Brentford. They are joined by Fisayo Dele Bashiru of Lazio, Muhammed Usman of Ironi Tiberias, Alex Iwobi of Fulham, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro of Pisa, Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge and Tochukwu Nnadi who represents Zulte Waregem.

The attack features Ademola Lookman of Atalanta and Victor Osimhen who plays for Galatasaray. The list also includes Akor Adams of Sevilla, Samuel Chukwueze of Fulham, Cyriel Dessers of Panathinaikos, Salim Fago of NK Istra, Moses Simon of Paris FC, Chidera Ejuke of Sevilla, and Paul Onuachu of Trabzonspor.

The team will begin preparations for the continental championship, which starts 21st of December and runs until 18 January 2026.

Nigerians will have high expectations from the team after failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
