The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu has denied Vice President Yemi Osinbajo being his political son.

The former Lagos State governor stated this on Monday when he met with some APC governors in Abuja.

Asiwaju Tinubu said he met with the governors to seek their support for his ambition to be Nigeria’s next president.

“My mission here is to seek collaboration, support, and encouragement of my party, the APC, for my ambition to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a replacement for President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure.”

When told by a reporter  that his son had just declared for president, the Lagos State former governor said, “I have no son grown enough to declare.”

The chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and the Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu said he and his colleagues will discuss Asiwaju Tinubu’s message to them.

“We appreciated him, his message and will definitely discuss the message at one of our forum meetings.

“For us, it is a hallmark of success that people are showing interest, but at the end of the day and because they are leaders of the party, they will always put the party's interest at heart,” he said.

Governor Bagudu also disclosed that he would prefer a consensus method in the selection of a presidential candidate for the APC.

“Members of the party always want to see a consensus, if it is possible but we are a democratic party. In our last convention, we had consensus in some of the offices and election in some others.”
