The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has arrested three persons with disabilities for alleged drug trafficking in Anambra and Kwara states, while also uncovering a large cannabis stash house in Lagos.

In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi said operatives arrested 60-year-old Romanus Nwabara in Onitsha, Anambra State, with 250 grams of skunk packed in small sachets.

Another suspect, 25-year-old Amos Kenneth, was arrested in Ogbunike with “160.3 grams of Tramadol, 80 pills of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol 5 and 176.93 grams of skunk,” the agency said.

In Kwara State, officers intercepted a commercial vehicle along Bode Saadu and found another suspect, Usman Salisu, carrying “6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a brown school bag.”

The NDLEA also announced a major drug seizure in Lekki, Lagos.

Babafemi said operatives raided “a Lekki Lagos mansion used as stash house” and recovered “4,000 parcels of Loud” weighing 2,326 kilograms.

The agency valued the drugs at more than ₦5.8 billion.

Officials also recovered two Mercedes-Benz buses and packaging materials from the house in Lekki Phase 1.

In another operation in Lagos, officers raided “a makeshift skuchies production factory” in Ijora Badia, where two suspects were allegedly caught mixing cannabis with other substances.

NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa praised officers for balancing “drug supply reduction efforts” with anti-drug awareness campaigns across the country.
