Veteran Nigerian singer and actor Sound Sultan has died after losing his battle with cancer.
The singer who was 44 years old, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, according to a family statement.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi a.k.a SoundSultan,” the statement said in part.
According to the statement, Sound Sultan died after “a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma,”
The Statement in full from late Sound Sultan’s brother Dr Kayode Fasasi reads: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer, rapper. songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi a.k.a SoundSultan he passed away at the age of 44 following a hard fought battle with angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma. he is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings. we his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”
