Nigerian wrestling star Oba Femi capped one of WWE's biggest rivalries of the year by defeating Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, winning their best-of-three series 2-1 in a brutal main-event showdown in Minneapolis.
The victory completed a remarkable rise for the Lagos-born wrestler, whose journey from the University of Lagos to WWE's biggest stages has captured the attention of fans in Nigeria and around the world.
Saturday night's contest was the third and final chapter of a rivalry that began at WrestleMania 42.
Femi stunned the former UFC champion by accepting Lesnar's open challenge and defeating him in his WrestleMania debut.
Lesnar answered weeks later by attacking the Nigerian star before beating him in a rematch at Clash in Italy, setting up the decisive SummerSlam clash.
The feud also had its roots in the Royal Rumble, where Lesnar eliminated Femi after the Nigerian had dominated the early stages of the match.
That confrontation grew into one of WWE's hottest storylines, with both men trading victories before agreeing to settle the score inside Hell in a Cell.
Femi overcame Lesnar in a physical encounter that saw both men use the unforgiving steel structure and weapons before the Nigerian delivered his devastating Fall From Grace finisher for the victory.

Declaring himself the past and Femi the future of WWE following the conclusion of the match, Lesnar praised his opponent in front of the SummerSlam crowd.
Reacting to the moment, Femi admitted he did not expect the show of respect from his longtime rival.
“The hug and public endorsement was definitely a shock, and I didn’t see that coming.
“I know that deep down, Brock has always respected me, and he knows that deep down, I respect him as well,” Femi said.
The victory is another landmark moment for the Nigerian powerhouse, born Isaac Odugbesan, whose rapid rise from collegiate athletics to WWE stardom has made him one of the country's biggest sporting success stories.
