Over the last four decades, football on the African continent has grown in leaps and bounds. From the tough, physical, and not-so-organized style of playing, to the smooth, tactical and eye-catching system that is common in the modern-day game.

Yet, after all these years and the many great exports from these parts that have lit up the game on the global stage, the continent is yet to reach the pinnacle of the game; winning the World Cup.

With names such as George Weah, Jay Jay Okocha, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, and Nwankwo Kanu, a household name in world football; why is an African team yet to win the World Cup?
