38 Abducted Kwara CAC Worshippers Reunite With Families After Rescue

Thirty-eight worshippers abducted during a church service in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have been reunited with their families after days of medical care and processing by authorities.

Nigeria Info FM earlier reported that the rescued victims were yet to reunite with their families.

These worshippers were seized on November 18 during a thanksgiving service at CAC Oke Isegun, an attack that left three people dead and one injured.

In a statement issued Tuesday night, Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti LGA Chairman, Dada Sunday, said the abductees were formally handed over to Chairman Awelewa Olawale Gabriel in Ilorin by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, marking the conclusion of a coordinated rescue operation involving federal and state security agencies.

The freed worshippers arrived in Eruku around 6:30 p.m. to jubilant crowds of relatives and community members.

Awelewa thanked President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRazaq, the National Security Adviser, and security agencies for what he called a swift and decisive intervention, adding that the victims received comprehensive medical care after their rescue.
