Alleged N4 bn Fraud: Obiano Pleads Not Guilty, Granted Bail

The former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja after he was charged with nine counts of N4 bn fraud.

The charges were brought before the court by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Obiano pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Subsequently, he was permitted to go home in accordance with the administrative bail terms previously extended to him by the EFCC.

These conditions mandated the confiscation of his international passport, accompanied by a stern warning against international travel without the court's explicit permission.

The trial is scheduled to commence on 4 March, as the case was adjourned to that date
