The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a landslide victory in the 2025 Rivers State Local Government Elections.
The election results, released by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) Sunday night, saw the party clinch a commanding 20 out of 23 chairmanship seats.
APC candidates took both the chairmanship and vice-chairmanship positions in key LGAs, including Ahoada East, Akuku Toru, Andoni, Bonny, and Gokana.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured wins in Port Harcourt Local Government Area, as well as Obio/Akpor, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas.
The result sets the stage for a new political dynamic at the local government level in Rivers State, where the suspended governor is a member of the PDP.
The newly elected officials are expected to be sworn in within the coming weeks to begin their tenure, with expectations high for their performance in local governance.
