Armed Forces of Nigeria Score Major Operational Wins Across Key Regions

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has updated the public on military operations from 3 to 12 December 2025, highlighting significant progress in combating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping nationwide.

Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, said, “Our forces, working with security agencies, continue to deny terrorists and criminals freedom of action across all theatres.”

In the Northeast, Operation HADIN KAI neutralized numerous Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, rescued 15 kidnapped victims, and arrested 22 collaborators. Arms and ammunition caches were seized, aided by effective air reconnaissance.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA in the Northwest resulted in the rescue of 10 kidnapped victims, the arrest of 18 suspects—including a terrorist medical doctor and arms dealer—and the recovery of weapons and vehicles.

Central Nigeria’s Operations ENDURING PEACE and WHIRL STROKE saw the arrest of kidnappers, rescue of 24 victims, and recovery of ransom funds exceeding six million Naira.

In the South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE thwarted oil thefts valued over 15 million Naira, destroyed illegal refining sites, and arrested 29 suspects.

Similar efforts in the Southeast (Operation UDO KA) rescued 15 victims and dismantled criminal weapon workshops.

The DHQ reaffirmed its commitment to rescuing abducted children from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Niger State, urging the public to provide credible information and avoid speculation.

Major General Onoja concluded, “These successes reflect the dedication and professionalism of our troops in securing Nigeria.”
