Enugu Air, the Enugu State-owned airline, will begin four weekly flights between Lagos and London Gatwick Airport on December 10, 2026.
The airline announced the development in a statement on Saturday, adding that tickets for the new international route were already available for booking.
The service will operate with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft under an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) arrangement with Portugal-based EuroAtlantic Airways.
The flights will be delivered through a partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation (OBA).
The airline said the service would connect passengers from Lagos, Enugu and other parts of Nigeria to the United Kingdom.
“Our London Gatwick operations will be served by an Airbus A330-200 on ACMI from EuroAtlantic, Portugal and operate four times weekly, providing passengers with greater flexibility when travelling between Nigeria and the United Kingdom,” the statement said.
Enugu Air Chief Executive Officer, Captain Tolu Ita, described the development as an important step in the airline's international expansion.
“The commencement of our London Gatwick service reflects our commitment to expanding international connectivity and the vision of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, to connect Enugu to more opportunities across the world,” Ita said.
He added that passengers from Enugu would be able to begin their London journey from Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
“We are proud to make the journey from Enugu to London Gatwick a reality for our passengers,” he said.
OBA Chairman, Akinola Olateru, said the partnership would create more opportunities for passengers travelling between Nigeria and the UK.
The announcement comes about six weeks after Enugu Air operated its first international flight to Douala, Cameroon, on September 23.
The airline began commercial operations in July 2025 and has since expanded its domestic and international route network.
