"I Beg to Differ" Kicks Off 9th Season with Thrilling Debate Battles 

The ninth season of Nigeria Info's flagship debate show, “I Beg to Differ,” kicked off on Monday, featuring brilliant young minds from Lagos secondary schools in two intense and engaging sessions.

In the first debate of the season, The Outliers College, Surulere, Lagos, went up against Elite Crop Schools, Ijegun, Lagos, on the motion, “Nigeria should scrap WAEC and NECO for a unified exam.”

Hauwa Suleiman, 13, an SS3 student, and 14-year-old Mukhtar Amusa represented Outliers College.

Elite Crop Schools had two 15-year-olds, Opute Joy Ebelechukwu, in SS3, and Bella Eno, in SS1, to argue their points.

After fierce arguments and counterarguments, Outliers College emerged victorious with 96 points, defeating Elite Crop Schools, which scored 82 points.

The second debate of the day saw Ideal Crystal School, Ketu, lock horns with Best Gift Comprehensive School, Ijegun, on the motion, “The Nigerian Secondary School Curriculum Kills Creativity.”

Adeleye Daniel and 14-year-old Okiki Joshua represented Ideal Crystal School, while Best Gift Comprehensive School fielded Victor Great Emediong and Oladiran Oluwakemi, both 14.

In the end, Ideal Crystal School clinched victory with 98 points, while Best Gift Comprehensive School finished with 89 points.

With their victories, The Outliers College, Surulere, and Ideal Crystal School, Ketu have now advanced to the Round of 16.
