The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended further collation of governorship results in some parts of Abia and Enugu States.
INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye made this known in a press release on Monday.
Okoye noted that the decision to suspend the collation of results in the states follows a review of the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections.
According to him, the Commission suspended the collation of results in Obingwa LGA of Abia State where he noted that INEC staff were held hostage on Sunday.
Additionally, result collation from Enugu East and Nsukka LGAs in Enugu State was also suspended for further review.
A review will be conducted immediately before the process is completed, Okoye said.
