The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye on Monday presented Letters of Credence to 11 newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners-designate, clearing the way for them to take up their postings at Nigerian missions abroad.

Among the envoys is Femi Fani-Kayode, named High Commissioner-designate to South Africa.

Others include:

  • Jane Adams Bassey, headed to Jamaica with concurrent accreditation to the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Belize,
  • Samuel Rueben Abimbola Tolulope, to Italy and Albania,
  • Joseph John Galgadi, to Gabon,
  • Danladi Nyaku, to Sudan and Eritrea,
  • Ahmed Olatunji Sulu-Gambari, to Malaysia,
  • Geoffrey Ijeoma David Chima, to Mali,
  • And Philip Ikurusi, to Zimbabwe.

The list also includes:

  • Raymond Abassi, designated for Hungary with accreditation extending to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia,
  • Saidu Dahiru Mohamed, headed to India with concurrent accreditation to Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh,
  • And retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, named High Commissioner-designate to the Philippines with accreditation to Cambodia.

Addressing the envoys, Enikanolaiye said their postings align with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which positions foreign policy as a tool for national development.

He directed them to prioritize attracting foreign investment, expanding trade opportunities, safeguarding national security, protecting Nigerians abroad and practicing citizen-focused diplomacy.

Each mission head will receive a customized Station Charter setting out specific targets, he said, with annual evaluations to measure performance against the president's goals through reporting, policy input and concrete outcomes.

Responding on behalf of the envoys, Ibas said the group understood its mandate and would work to uphold Nigeria's reputation abroad.
