Police Interrogate Pastor Adefarasin Over Viral ‘Gun’ Video

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder and senior pastor of House on the Rock Church, is currently under interrogation after a viral video appeared to show him holding what looked like a firearm during a disagreement with a content creator.

The 10-second clip, which began circulating on social media, shows a black Range Rover with tinted windows slowing near the car-spotting content creator. As the window rolls down, the creator greets the driver, identified as Adefarasin, who then scolded him while holding a pistol-like object.

The video, reportedly captured by the Lagos-based car content creator, sparked outrage online, with many accusing the 62-year-old preacher of firearm possession and intimidation.

Following the controversy, Adefarasin voluntarily presented himself at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by his lawyer.

Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the development, stating:

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in and is currently being interrogated by detectives. An investigation was launched after a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object while driving an unregistered vehicle.”

He added that the findings of the investigation will be made public once concluded.

In response to the allegations, Adefarasin addressed his congregation during a Sunday sermon, denying the claims and calling the video a misrepresentation.

“I do not carry a gun. I do not have a pistol license. The accusation is completely false,” he said, attributing the backlash to "clickbaiters chasing money, not truth."
