The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Bernard Doro as a minister after his screening in plenary on Thursday.
President Bola Tinubu had last week sent his name to the Senate in accordance with the provision of Section 14 (2) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
With his confirmation, Doro will now hold the vacant position of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs previously occupied by the current chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda.
Shortly after his confirmation, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, called for the adjournment of plenary to enable lawmakers attend the inauguration of the Service Chiefs at the State House in Abuja.
The lawmakers will now reconvene on Tuesday next week.
