President Bola Tinubu has commenced a multi-country diplomatic trip, which the presidency says is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economic ties and international partnerships.

The presidential aircraft took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Sunday, marking the start of a tour that will take him to France, Kenya, and Rwanda over the next two weeks.

Aso Rock said the visit is designed to deepen bilateral relations, attract foreign investment, and position Nigeria more prominently in global economic discussions.

France is the first stop on the itinerary, before the president proceeds to Nairobi, Kenya, for high-level engagements.

In Kenya, Tinubu is expected to participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11-12.

The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on issues such as energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and broader economic cooperation.

Tinubu is also expected to engage with global investors and policymakers during the summit as part of efforts to boost economic growth and expand international cooperation.

Following the Kenya leg, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, where he is scheduled to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14-15.

The gathering will bring together business leaders and policymakers to explore investment opportunities and strategies for driving growth across the continent.
